The objective of this book is to encourage administrations to formulate a sound housing policy to solve basic health-related housing problems and to meet WHO’s objective of healthful housing for all by the year 2000. It is hoped that this guide will be used extensively as a reference to basic health requirements for new housing and human settlements and as a guide for assessing the hygienic quality of existing housing.
